Okay... I'm taking a shot at this blog thing. Honestly, I don't know if anyone's going to see it, but here goes...

Got some inspiration for a song the other night... I feel good about this one. Funny thing is I got inspired by this quote from this movie: Nicholas Nickleby...? Made a while ago... anyways it's got Charlie Hunnam and Anne Hathaway in it and at one point, after Charlie tells Anne that she's "admirably able and strong", she says in this really awesome way, "I'm tired of being strong."
I felt like I'd heard that before, but I couldn't remember from where. It didn't matter anyway because there was something about it, maybe the words, maybe just the way she spoke them, but it struck something and I had to write it down.
The problem is, this was about 1:30 in the morning and once I'd finished writing out the chorus, I wanted to record the melody I had in my head in case I forgot it in the morning. But, being the college girl that I am, I had a roommate sleeping across the room, and had to go outside into the freezing, deserted lobby to sing into my mini recording device in my phone.

That's kinda what happens I guess... I mean one minute I'm walking around minding my own business and the next someone says something important or an idea just pops into my brain out of nowhere. Most of the time I'm out of luck because I can't just burst into song in the middle of class... I mean, I could, but I don't think the teacher would appreciate it that much.
So I've decided to not let sleep interrupt the creativity anymore. If I have an idea, I write it down, sing it out whatever, because God knows inspiration is in short enough supply these days. You gotta take it when you can get it.
